St. Mary’s Hospital, Nebraska City NE

A new $47 million medical complex, the largest project in Nebraska City history, would unite St. Mary’s Community Hospital with the Nebraska City Medical Clinic. Officials announced intentions in July to construct the 100,000 square-foot hospital campus, saying it would meet the community’s medical needs while improving the patient experience.

Dan Kelly, CEO of St. Mary’s, said the plans for the new hospital includes two operating rooms and 18 inpatient beds, including two labor/delivery/recovery/postpartum rooms. Kelly predicted that with the new facility, the number of babies born at St. Mary’s each year will grow beyond the more than 100 now delivered there.

The design also calls for a 3,500-square-foot community senior center.
